Winemaking notes
70 % of the harvest is hand picked and 30 % is through mechanical picking. Grapes (85 % Sauvignon Blanc and 15 % Chardonnay) are sourced mostly from coastal vineyards in the Central Valley: coastal, southern and mountain estates add to the complexity of the wine. The wine is vinified in stainless steel tanks followed by an additional 2 months of ageing in steel tanks.
Viticultural notes
Isla Negra wines are made with grapes from throughout the Central Valley, which is made up of several small valleys ranging from Casablanca to Maule. These privileged and developed regions in the country, the Central Valley has a temperate Mediterranean climate with a dry and luminous ripening season, diverse soils, precise humidity and temperature patterns The soil composition is alluvial with good drainage and red clay depending on the estate..
