Winemaking notes
The winemaking process begins with gentle crushing, followed by a month-long maceration in temperature-controlled vats to extract color and aromas. Malolactic fermentation occurs in one continuous stage over four weeks. The wine is then aged for 18 months, including 12 months in French oak barrels, adding structure, balance, and aromatic depth.
Viticultural notes
The vines grow on clay-gravel and silty soils typical of the Libournais. The blend is primarily Merlot (70%), complemented by 15% Cabernet Franc and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. Harvesting is done parcel by parcel at optimal ripeness, allowing each grape variety to fully express its character and reflect the richness of the terroir.
Tasting notes
From the first pour, the wine reveals expressive aromas. On the palate, it is fresh and well-balanced, with fine, complex tannins. Flavors of ripe red fruits, subtle spice, and elegant oak lead into a long, smooth finish. A wine that combines charm and depth with a refined, silky mouthfeel and great drinkability.
Pairing notes
Serve slightly warm, between 17 and 18°C, to reveal its full aromatic potential. This wine pairs beautifully with grilled or braised red meats, lamb, or duck. It also complements aged cheeses like Comté or mountain Tomme, and is a fine match for dark chocolate or berry-based desserts for a rich, flavorful finish.
